In a surprising turn of events, Abou Diaby could be set for yet another comeback and pull on the red and white strip once again. This time though, the strip belongs to FC Dallas in Major League soccer. Having finally been released by Arsenal after rejecting a pay as you play offer from the club, Diaby finds himself in search of a new club for the first time since 2006.

The 29 year old desperately needs first team football, after suffering 8 injury ravaged seasons in North London. He is said to be chomping at the bit to play, and it seems he could get his wish sooner rather than later. With all European leagues (barring Scandinavia) currently on summer break, the MLS is the only league currently ongoing.

The chance to play football soon is said to intrigiung to Diaby and with the American window set to open on July 8th, everything is falling in place for the player.

Reports in the Metro yesterday intimated that his agent has begun talks with Texas outfit FC Dallas and is expected to be in search of a short term deal. Diaby could be set to join the Western Conference side for the remainder of the season before searching for another European side.

FC Dallas currently sit sixth in the West, and are said to be looking to add experience to their youthful midfield. Gooners will wish Abou all the best going forward, and will be checking to see how he gets on in Texas (assuming the deal goes through).
