Arsenal have struggled to compete yet again this season and wholesale changes are likely to occur from top to bottom this summer, which may also include waving goodbye to long-serving manager Arsene Wenger.

Wenger, or whoever his predecessor may be, will have a tough task of improving the squad at the end of the season as there is a number of areas in the team that need to be improved- especially if the Gunners are to contend for honours next season.

Arsenal have money to spend and, although reluctant to splash out significantly during Wenger’s tenure at the club, a new manager could put to the funds the Gunners have at their disposal to good use and we’ve identified the three areas that especially need improving this season.

Finding the right targets for each role could be a challenge but Arsenal should have enough about them to identify the right player, persuade the club to sell and tie the target down to a deal with the Gunners.
