This summer is shaping up to be huge for Arsenal and it could leave the Gunners with a lot of work to do, with the most daunting task being the possibility of having to search for a replacement for Alexis Sanchez when, in reality, there isn’t any player like him.

The Chilean has played the best football of his career this season and currently leads the Premier League scoring charts with 16 goals but the rest of the squad has struggled to provide the sort of performances necessary to fight for honours.

As such, Arsenal find their season pretty much over before we’ve even gotten to the end of February and last night’s embarrassing performance against Bayern Munich shows that the Gunners aren’t able to compete with the best of Europe.

With Alexis now well into the final 18 months of his deal and there being no signs of an extension, it’s becoming increasingly likely that Arsenal will have to cash-in this summer or face losing him on a free transfer in 2019.

The warning signs are all there and it’s pretty obvious he won’t be penning a new deal…
