It’s been a dramatic season for Arsenal and with it drawing to a close, @DanGaleaStJohn has identified four targets the Gunners should aspire to achieve next season.

Winning the title

I think there is no other obvious target then this. Arsenal have not won the league since 2004/2005 and seeing as this year it will be won by a team of considerably less financial power than Arsenal (be it Leicester or spurs), it is well overdue.

Another thing to make sure is that they are not playing catch-up. Arsenal are 10 points beneath Leicester, and this shouldn’t have to be the case again next season.

Keeping major players fit

This is probably an even bigger ask. This year Cazorla, Alexis and Coquelin (Arsenal’s top three players last season) all missed huge chunks of the league, and were sorely missed. Wilshere meanwhile, is yet to kick a ball all season.

If only Arsenal could tweak their fitness system then maybe our players won’t have to make their visit to the treatment room such a frequent occurrence.

Finishing above Spurs

For the first time since Wenger has been at the helm, Arsenal were the only team to never finish below spurs. That seems to have changed, and it is probably what has made this season so bitter for most Arsenal fans. While there is no trophy for this, every die hard Arsenal fan will tell you how important it is to better their rivals in the league.

Advancing past the round of last 16 of the Champion’s League

This is one that is 6 years overdue. This should be the joint priority along with winning the league. Arsenal consistent inconsistencies in the champions league are a real embarrassment to a club of Arsenal’s stature. They need to start beating the best.
