While it will be the case for most of the top clubs in Europe following this summer’s European Championships, the rushed start to the new season will create issues for Arsenal.

With several Gunners stars having enjoyed a positive tournament in getting to the latter stages of Euro 2016, these players will receive extended leave as has been customary in recent seasons.

The theme of player burnout has been one treated with an increasing level of care in the modern-day game and with the fear of doing more damage by playing certain players too much, another week off is deemed to work wonders.

Not only will Arsenal have to cope without several members of their first team for a tough Premier League opener against Liverpool for this reason but there is also the concept of injuries.

Injuries have blighted the Gunners in more seasons than Arsenal fans care to remember and while we all accept that it’s part and parcel of the game, most of Arsenal’s injuries always seem to be long-term and highly damaging to their title or cup chances.

So with these two key themes in mind, today we unfortunately have to list FIVE Arsenal squad members who will be out of the Gunners’ first Premier League game of the new 2016/17 campaign against Liverpool at Emirates Stadium.
