Henry: It was better that I moved on

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has agreed with Francesc Fabregas' comments that the presence of the Frenchman was sometimes more of a hindrance than of a help.

Fabregas said that because of Henry's position within the team, there were times when the younger players felt intimidated to pass the ball to him rather than to another player who was in a better position.

Henry said: "I agree with them [Fabregas' comments].

"Because of my seniority, the fact that I was captain and my habit of screaming for the ball, they would sometimes give it to me even when I was not in the best position.

"So in that sense it was good for the team that I moved on."

I agree that Henry was getting to be too much of a burden to the team. That he moved to a team where he wouldn't be considered any where neare number one (he'd have to go over the heads of E'too, Ronaldinho and Messi) where he'd have to earn his position is better for him and for Arsenal. Now we see what a young team can do and the Henry's and Viera's can sit back and watch. I truly hope he scores as many goals fro Barca as he did for the gunners. He's a great player and inevitably egocentric.

Hell yeah! Henry is a good player and was for Arsenal but to the greater good of the club he had to leave and let all players be equal under no pressure.

Yes it was correct for Henry to move, for instance at one time Henry partnered RvP and these two player could not click in properly-This was due to the seniority of TH14. More often RVP was to loose possession of the ball when trying 2 pass 2 Henry coz he feared being shouted at. This also happened to JAR-Jose Antonio Reyes whenever they partner.
