Wenger: I will be attacking Liverpool

Manager Arsène Wenger has promised to attack Liverpool tonight and try and get an early goal.

Anfield has been an intimidating fortress for Liverpool in Europe, but the Frenchman says that it is down to his team to silence the crowd.

With the scores locked at 1-1, Liverpool have the advantage going into the match but Wenger wants to remove that advantage by scoring early.

He is also calling on his young team to draw inspiration from their endeavours at the San Siro, where they overcame an experienced and illustrious Milan side.

Wenger said: "We need a similar spirit to the one we showed at the San Siro.

"I believe we have to go into the game with the same positive attitude.

"I believe we can win anywhere in the world. We are not going to play the game to go to penalties, we will play it to win.

"There will be more urgency in this game and less observation. My wish is not to be patient. I want to score early goals."

Wenger has outlived his usefulness in Arsenal.

After this game, Wenger really needs to think about who should be shown the door, and whom to buy in the summer. Walcott proved he is ready for first team next season, and the likes of Eboue, Adebayor, Senderos, and again, Toure should just leave as all these guys are just not class enough to play for Arsenal, and especially Toure showed how he was useless when defending big players like Torres, Drogba. As for the ref, what can we say, it seems everyone in the world is against the gunners. If this was a penalty, how on earth didn't Vink reward THAT one in the first leg? ...... Another year, another heartbreaking trophiless season...

Well Arsene we attacked for half an hour got an early lead then squandered it and lost the game, eventually.Isn't it ovbious that the team is struggling to score goals i mean 12 goals for & 12 goals against us in the last 9 matches IS NOT SILVERWARE WINNING FORM! Don't forget we haven't won a home game since the 2nd week of Feb.
Trully Arsene i think it's time to put away your ego & face facts;since Chelsea raised the bar Arsenal have been unable to keep up due to a policy which is no longer valid. This was the season for this team & you blew it by not strengthening the squad and i hope their psyche is not affected by the clubs underachivements in the last 4 years.
Now it's back to the drawing board to go through the rigours of playing qualifying series football for the champions league next season. How can i say this? cos there is no way Chelsea are going to squander the 3 point lead they currently have over us & furthermore THEY ARE REALISTICALLY CHALLENGING FOR THE TITLE DESPITE LOSING A COACH WHO WAS THE BACKBONE OF THEIR TEAM!

All wrong sirs. The 'Arsenal Factor' came to play again. This time with disastrous effect. Failure to convert chances. Brought in Wallcott LATE. Gave away lead AGAIN. This is great!!!

This is put up or shut up time. Failure to win tonight would be 2 wins in 12 and you can't excuse that you can only admit that we bottled it. Can you believe also, that in those 2 wins, we were only in the lead after the 74th and 90th minutes so that means not once in the last 11 games have we won comfortably with for example a first half goal which was not cancelled out. So let's see some ****ing success tonight. I am starting to forget what winning without stress feels like. You wouldn't want to have a heart complaint and be an Arsenal fan I tell you. If you lose tonight it will be ice hockey for the rest of the season.

I couldn't agree more, some early goals from Arsenal will put the tie beyond doubt, strange that a 2-2 draw will also do for the Gunners, I'm going for a 3-0 win such is my optimism :-)
