Larsson wants a new contract

Sebastian Larsson hopes to talk about a new contract after Christmas. The Swedish starlet has started to impress Arsène Wenger with his Carling Cup performances for Arsenal's second string team which took the scalps of Manchester City and Everton.

The 19-year-old says that he struggled to adapt to life in North London at first because he was on his own. Larsson says that the arrival of his girlfriend in the capital helped to settle his private life.

"The first time at Arsenal was tough, but if your private life is good, it also goes well with the football," Larsson told Expressen.

"If it goes well with the football, it also affects your private life."

Larsson was disappointed with Arsenal's Carling Cup defeat at Manchester United.

The Old Trafford encounter was a fiery affair, but Larsson says that he is not the type of player to go around kicking people.

"It was particularly heated when we faced Manchester United. You can't get away with kicking someone any more.

"Even if the referee does not see it, it will be on TV or in a paper the following day.

"Even if I really want to win, I am not the type who wants to kick someone on the pitch, even when I am irritated."
