Arsenal are interested in AC Milan holding midfielder Manuel Locatelli, reports Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper say Arsenal scouts were present for Milan’s 1-0 win over Sassuolo at the weekend, but the the 19 year old remained on the bench and was not used by manager Vincenzo Montella.

Despite not being capped even at Under 21 level by Italy to date, Montella has placed a lot of trust in the teenager so far this campaign, giving him 16 starts in all competitions, and 21 appearances in all.

Locatelli has however remained on the bench for the past two matches with the midfielder also being benched for the 2-1 win against Fiorentina a week earlier.

The 19 year old has made his way through the youth system at Milan, progressing to the first team after making his debut in April last year, coming on as a 87th minute substitute for midfielder Andrea Poli in the 0-0 league draw against Carpi.
