Danny Welbeck seems to be enjoying his football at the moment, with another fine display for England on Friday. He was man of the match against Lithuania scoring one and creating another, and also led the goal scoring charts during Euro 16 Qualifiers with 6 goals.

Welbeck credits this run of form to his transfer to Arsenal from Manchester United in the summer, saying the chance to play more consistently has helped him improve.

“When you are playing regularly, you feel a lot sharper on the pitch”, he told the Evening Standard.

“Once you play regularly, it just becomes second nature to do things on the pitch. I feel match-sharp and that is important.”

As for the Three Lions, Welbeck feels the side are in good form and are felling confident.

“As a team, England are progressing well. We are on a good run and we just want to keep it going. As a whole squad, we are excited whenever the games come up,” he said.

“We’ve got great options. And it is not just the attacking players, but it is all over the pitch. With the way we are playing at the moment, if you get a chance you want to take it.”

Gooners will be hoping Welbeck can transfer this form into more consistent production domestically. Welbeck has been ruled out of tomorrow’s clash with Italy after a knee injury, but hopefully he recovers in time to face Liverpool on Saturday.

We are glad Danny has chosen to join us, and we have so far been repaid by his showings for us.
