Alexis Sanchez continued his fine form as he helped Chile overcome Brazil in a World Cup 2018 qualifying match, where a 2-0 win gave the hosts their first World Cup qualifying victory over La Selecao since 2000.

Eduardo Vargas fired the Copa America champions into the lead after 72 minutes, before Alexis sealed the game right at the death as he finished a superb move. Here’s some stats on the Arsenal star’s performance!

The 26-year-old made his 88th appearance for Chile and his 29th goal, which took his tally to seven in the last four games for club and country, sees him draw third on the list of the all-time scoring charts; trailing Marcelo Salas by eight goals.

Only goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, of Barcelona, boasts more appearances for the South American side; having 96 appearances to Alexis’ 88, with the stopper looking likely to become the first Chilean to reach 100 international appearances.

For Alexis against Brazil, he had a crucial involvement in front of goal with two shorts on target and three overall; with the Arsenal man having a third of Chile’s entire shots on target during the game.

He will now enter next week’s game against Peru in fine form, where we and the remainder of Arsenal fans hope he continues his blistering form.
