After a shock defeat to the Republic Of Ireland last week, Mesut Ozil and his German side got things back on track with a 2-1 victory over Georgia; sealing their place at next summer’s European Championship.

The win saw the World Cup winners advance to the tournament in France next summer as group winners and Ozil played a crucial part in the match, which wasn’t the comfortable victory many predicted.

A frustrating game for the Germans, which saw Marco Reus miss many opportunities, was eventually settled 11 minutes from time by substitute Max Kruse. He stole the headlines but, unsurprisingly, it was Ozil who set-up the goal.

In the fashion we expect from him, Ozil’s deft ball through to the Wolfsburg striker left the forward with little to do as he stroked home a perfect finish from an inch-perfect pass.

WhoScored awarded Ozil man of the match, with an 8.8 rating, with the Arsenal man having 10% of the possession all to himself- a number that was only bettered by Real Madrid ace Toni Kroos, who played in a deeper role.

An 88% pass completion is also a decent statistic for the German ace, who took his tally to an impressive 30 assists in 69 appearances for his country.

We sincerely hope that Ozil can continue his fine form this weekend when Arsenal travel to face Watford in the Premier League!
