Boring, boring Chelsea. That was the chant from the Arsenal supporters at the Emirates, and a fitting one, as Mourinho’s men sat deep for much of the match today. Scoreless stalemate at the Emirates, and effectively the end of our faint title hopes, but our lads can take pride in their performance.
For the most part, the story was the same all throughout. Arsenal in possession charging forward with Chelsea sitting deep behind the ball. Not much in the way of clear chances for either side, with Willian and Ozil both sending tame efforts directly at Ospina and Courtois respectively.
A breathless spell in the dying moments nearly resulted a last gasp winner however, when Nacho Monreal’s low cross somehow eluded both Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck at the near post. It wasn’t to be unfortunately, and the match ended 0-0. The lads will be gutted, but it’s not all doom and gloom. View the player ratings from today’s match
