Arsenal are the new FA Cup trendsetters! The club had already made history by making a record 28th appearance in the FA Cup semi final and the win booked a place in the final for a record 19th time. The lads had to dig in to stave off a plucky Reading side, but got through in the end courtesy of an Alexis Sanchez brace.

The first came from a delicious pass from Ozil to free Alexis towards the end of the first half. He took a touch to control and another to cut back before firing low beyond Federici. Garath McCleary equalized nine minutes into the second, and Arsenal were made to wait until extra time to seize the advantage yet again.

It was a bit fortuitous, as Alexis Sanchez’s low shot at the near post just managed to squirm through the legs of Federici. Agony for the Royals, jubilation for the Gunners and for us Gooners. It wasn’t a vintage performance from our lads by any stretch, but a hard fought grounded out victory

We’re going back to Wembley! Just Aston Villa or Liverpool stand in the way from Arsenal becoming the supreme FA Cup owners.
