Mesut Ozil has rubbished reports of being unsettled at the club, revealing he is “really happy” at Arsenal. Not that there was any ever real doubt amongst gooners, but things like this are always great to hear still.

Mesut has come under a lot of unfair scrutiny since his arrival and it seems he is just bored with it as we are. Speaking to reporters yesterday, he said he isn’t concerned by media reports and that he hasn’t even considered his long time future yet.

“For now, I am not making any plans for after my career. I am just really happy to be here” he said.

“I have been in this business so long now, I have been a professional since I was 16, 17.” “I don’t care what the press thinks about me as football changes from day to day. You can play well one day and badly the next. I’m used to it.”

He went on heap praise on Arsene Wenger, saying he trust’s the boss while also revealing his delight with winning silverware last year.

“He (Wenger) knows what he wants and I know he can bring me a step forward; he trusts me in that way and I trust him, completely”.

“For a team, it (a trophy) is the biggest thing to get and we got it, but as a player, there are other things – being the best player in the world, other cups, the Champions League.”

Hopefully this will finally put to rest the rubbish and sometimes comical reports linking him with moves to Bayern and Barca amongst others. Mesut is a model professional, and knows that he has a lot to do at Arsenal before even thinking about leaving. He has conceded on numerous occasions that his form must improve and I love to see a player taking responsibility.

Mesut knows that he needs to improve, and that Arsenal need him to improve, and it seems to me that he is far more concerned with that than he is with transfer rumours.

Ozil is going nowhere. The only place he is leaving from is the treatment table.
