Alexis Sanchez has instantly endeared himself to the Arsenal faithful with his tireless work ethic and eight goals already this season.

Following Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s comparison of the Chilean to Luis Suarez, it appears Danny Welbeck is also full of praise for the former Barcelona star.

Speaking after the Sunderland game, the England international said: “The boss told us before the game to press their back four and try to force mistakes. The first goal came from that, so it was something that worked quite well today. It’s a pleasure to play with Alexis. He’s persistent, he keeps going and they are [the attributes of] somebody I like to play alongside. It’s the same with all the other players in the team. I’m really getting to know the players much better now and hopefully now we can go on a nice run of winning games.

We’ve had two away games and got two wins. We’ve set the platform now and the main thing is to build on that. We showed character and we’re going to have to stick it out when it gets tough and nitty gritty in the next games.”
