Aaron Ramsey feels the gap between Arsenal and Chelsea is closing and insists that Arsenal has indeed experienced a successful season. The side are in the FA Cup final for the second time in as many years, and Ramsey hopes a repeat of the title will spur the side towards a challenge for the league next season.

Speaking ahead of the West Brom match tomorrow, Ramsey had this to say:

“Winning two trophies in two years would be a success, having gone a long period without winning anything.”

On the topic of next season, Ramsey said Arsenal must avoid making the same mistakes as seasons prior.

“We need a good start,” he said. “That’s what we were guilty of this season – we were inconsistent. But we have grown as the season has gone on.”

“The last couple of seasons we have either started off really well, or finished really well. We couldn’t put the two together.”

He concluded, commenting on cross town rivals Chelsea.

“I don’t believe Chelsea have better players than us, but they have been the most consistent team. They just seem to grind out results.”

“We will have to do that as well. We know we can match anyone on our day. It’s about doing that every week.”

Actions speak louder than words. We gooners want more than anything to see the lads carry out these plans rather than speak of them. Ramsey has been one of the club’s standout performers recently, so we are glad to hear him speaking out about the club’s performances.

Let’s show the world that the gap between Arsenal and Chelsea has well and truly been bridged.
