Mezut Ozil has announced that he will be out for longer than expected. He suffered a phantom injury against Chelsea where he played 90 minutes only to reveal later that he felt a crack in his knee on route to partially tearing his ligament.

He was originally expected to return sometime after the international break and in time for the festive period, but he revealed today that he will be out for several more weeks.

It appears its one in and one out for Arsenal, as Giroud has only just returned from his injury. As Arsenal fans, we have learned to take the good with the bad I suppose.

“I have already been out for five weeks and will be out for another seven weeks,” he told Sky Sports.

“That is a really long time but that is the way it is in football sometimes. My head is held high and we look forward.”

Although he hasn’t exactly been firing on all cylinders since his arrival, we believe in him and know he will soon be at his World Class best. I feel for him, as I’m sure this setback must be extremely frustrating and only compounds his misery. He was under intense scrutiny, and the only thing worse for a footballer than playing poorly, is not playing at all.

I wish Ozil two speedy returns; a first return to the pitch and a second return back to top form.

quick recovery Ozil.iam an ARSENAL FAN till idie. i like you soo much.i like yr modern style of playing football.i only wish Arsene wenger would buy yr cover up team players.especially attacking mid filders.those are strong and fast for the counter attacks.plus some too agressive back four and two holding mid filders.then we can take champions league and premier league.sometimes we do criticise you.yes.but we always believe you are our best player at Arsenal line up.we dont criticise you coz we hate you.we do that coz we want you to make us happy after the game.everytime.when you score.i feel like i scored against our bitter riffles like chelsea,Everton and etc.i alway watch your match replays on yutube.i like it.especially when you were at Real madrid & the first days at Arsenal .its a mazing.i wish you all the best & quick recovery.
