Remember when Arsenal began being linked to Tyrone Mings from Ipswich Town? And I said although he is a good footballer, I don’t think he is Arsenal standard just yet? Well it seems my words hold no power as Arsene Wenger recently admitted Mings is amongst the players he is monitoring.

He all but confirmed Arsenal’s interest in the player, saying Mings is a player he is following closely.

“On the defensive front, we will try to bring somebody in, but we are not on any special case,” he said.

“We are on a few young players yes, that we always follow. He is one of the players we follow, but we are not close to signing anybody at the moment.”

I can honestly say I am indifferent this particular matter. I think Arsenal should be targeting seasoned experienced veterans rather than lower league youngsters. No offense to Mings, who like I said is a quality defender, but I am not yet sold on him enough to place my faith in him. Should he join alongside the likes of Hummels or Chiellini for instance then I would be up for it 100 percent.

Another worrying fact is the fact that Wenger said he is on a few young players, rather than just Mings, which leads me too believe that he may well be considering more young and unproven players. I personally don’t quite understand why he would take this course of action given Arsenal’s struggles so far this season.

I won’t worry about it too much for now though. We can only hope this works out if indeed it does go through.

Wenger…as a devoted fan I think you are one of the greatest things that has happened for Arsenal and you have done so much for the club, but as many of you fans will say and looking at arsenal now it is time you said goodbye. I do not mean the club should sack you but you should retire maybe even be on the board of directors you have earned that right, but Im afraid you have gone as far as you can go as a manager and there is need for new blood. PLEASE PLEASE Wenger do the right thing and retire do not let Arsenal sack you it would be an absolute shame
