Arsene Wenger has revealed some rather sad news regarding the injuries to Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere. The latter was confirmed to have fractured his fibula after a training ground collision, while the former surprisingly required surgery for a knock picked up while playing for his country.

Rosicky’s agent yesterday broke the news that the player would be out for as long as two months, but the boss says that time frame is actually inaccurate.

“Tomas has had surgery on his knee,” Wenger told the club’s official website. “His agent said he will be out for one or two months, but it will be longer. How long exactly, we don’t know yet.”

He continued, providing an update on Wilshere’s situation.

“We said Jack would be out for four weeks, and he’s in the second week now so he’s on schedule,” added the Frenchman.”

Both players will be disheartened surely, having suffered mightily with injuries throughout their careers. Rosicky is the senior most player in the squad, and has fallen down the pecking order in recent years. Surely he was hoping to end his stay at the club on a high, and this injury has derialed that.

Wilshere is a bit younger and has many more years ahead of him still, but you must feel for them both regardless. Let’s hope both can still play a part later on during the season.
