Arsene Wenger has revealed he has a plan up his sleeve to cope with the loss of Francis Coquelin, who has been ruled out for the next two months with a ligament injury.

The Gunners first-team has been rocked by the news, which sees Arsenal lose a valued member of the starting line-up for a crucial stage in their season.

With Arsenal preparing for a pivotal Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb tomorrow, where only victory will suffice, Wenger hinted at his plan to use Calum Chambers in Coquelin’s role during his pre-match press conference.

“We have players that can play in [Coquelin’s] position. Chambers has been educated in that position.”

On top of this, Wenger went on to confirm that the transfer market will be utilised in January should he require further cover for the injured Frenchman. He added:

“I’ll do what’s needed in January even though in Jan it is not an ideal transfer market.”

Calum Chambers could therefore start for Arsenal in a midfield role tomorrow, though Aaron Ramsey’s return gives Arsenal another option.

I don’t think we should risk Ramsey for this game. Flamini should play this while Chambers continues his ‘education’. Who knows? He might turn out to be a revelation. It happened before. Even Coquelin was revealed during a crisis situation like this one.
I pray Arsenal can ride out this rough tide. Thank goodness, our competitors are not firing either.
