The Gunners are still priced as the odds-on favourites heading into this fixture against Newcastle and it really looks like it’s going to be interesting as the Magpies are shorn of attacking options with Andy Carroll now at Liverpool and Shola Ameobi out with an injury sustained in midweek against Fulham.

Alan Pardew’s men pay out at a full 4/1 to pull off the victory at St James’ Park while Arsenal are as low as 4/6 for the outright win. Samir Nasri being out complicates things a bit, while Alex Song is out with a thigh problem. Sebastien Squillaci returns to the defensive line and that’s definitely helpful.

Kevin Nolan is going to have a lot to do and if Arsenal can cut off the service to him and then defend well at set pieces, we should be able to pull off the result. This is one of those matches we could either win 3-0 or wind up in one of those crappy 0-0 draws.

Robin van Persie is well-priced for a goal at any point in the match and you’ll find him around 4/5 while Marouane Chamakh is listed at evens. Cesc Fabregas will probably be looking to do some talking on the pitch in this one and his 7/4 price looks enticing enough.

Draw/Arsenal in the half-time/full-time market is a decent shout for this one and it’s available anywhere from 7/2 to 4/1.

The bookmakers expect goals in this one and it’s clearly indicated by the over 2.5 total goals option paying out at 8/11. There is a big gap between a 3 goal match and a 4 goal match with over 3.5 trading at 15/8. 3-1 to Arsenal maybe? That’s 10/1.
