Arsenal Ladies are inching ever closer to a historic Quadruple. The Ladies team face London rivals Charlton tomorrow in the FA Women’s Cup final.

Vic Acker’s seemingly unstoppable team have already won the Premier League, the League Cup and the UEFA Cup this season, earning the club a historic Treble.

What they really want, is the Quadruple, and they are one win away from earning that.

"Mad, isn’t it?" says 19-year-old striker Karen Carney.

"But we’re good for the English game.

“When I was at Birmingham City, the men’s and women’s teams were kept apart.

“At Arsenal, it’s one club, it’s more professional and that enables you to do better for yourself and the team."

The women’s team will be parading their Treble during a half time lap of honour at the Emirates Stadium today, before setting off to Nottingham.

Carney reckons that the success within the club’s women’s team is down to Ackers and former director David Dein acting together to provide support, and focus from the club.

Now that Dein is gone, Carney hopes that that won’t change.

Carney says: "He [Dein] was our president, a massive supporter and the one who enabled our success.

"It’s weird that he’s gone, but hopefully he’ll still be our president and hopefully the club will still back us."

"Vic [Ackers] is so relaxed

"He taught us to respect every other team, to express ourselves and to win everything. He treats us as his own, he’s like your dad.

“We have loads of respect for him, but he’s a joker, too: he doesn’t half wind you up."
