More transfer coming out of the rumour mill today. According to various reports, 22-year-old Juventus star Alvaro Morata is interested in a move to the Premier League with Arsenal being leaders in the race to sign him.

Olivier Giroud’s performance against Monaco last week certainly hasn’t helped his case with those who don’t view him as an elite striker and Alexis Sanchez coming off of his hot streak, Morata may be a long-term option given his young age.

Having finally come into his own at Juventus after being an understudy to Karim Benzema at Real Madrid, his abilities may well be honed under Arsene Wenger. With Danny Welbeck having so far been a disappointment in front of goal, Morata could be a much better option for the future of Arsenal’s strikers, with Giroud now nearly 30-years-old. Even at a young age, Morata has experience after playing at the top level of both Spanish and Italian football, as well as the Champions League.

Whatever the intentions of Wenger are with regards to signing him, Arsenal will not be alone in their bid to sign him. Liverpool are also reportedly interested, as well as a host of other top clubs worldwide. This will definitely be one to watch, as the player may well be too good to miss.

Driving Arsenal to success?
