Arsenal goalkeeping legend David Seaman has heaped praise on incoming keeper Petr Cech. Seaman was the man in between the sticks for eight major trophies with Arsenal including three league titles and four FA Cup crowns. He knows a thing or two about winning titles, and many believe Petr Cech is the man to replace Seaman as Arsenal’s best ever.

Besides Jens Lehmann, Arsenal haven’t possessed a world class keeper since Seaman departed the club in 2003, and the former England international believes Cech can make the difference for Arsenal. As reported by Sky Sports, Seaman had this to say about Arsenal’s new signing:

“Chelsea’s loss could, and likely will, be Arsenal’s gain.”

“In my opinion, this signing could genuinely be the difference between who will come first and who will come second next season.”

Cech too knows a thing or two about winning, after a trophy laden 11 years with Chelsea. Many feel that his winning pedigree and experience will help take Arsenal to the next level.

Funny enough, Cech could be set to make his Arsenal debut against former club Chelsea in the Community Shield. Hopefully Seaman’s prediction of Chelsea’s loss and Arsenal’s gain will be come true.

He has joined the club on what Arsenal call a “long term deal” believed to be a four year contract and says he raring to go. Gooners will be chomping at the bit to see our new man between the sticks.
