Arsenal legend Ray Parlour says he would like his former club to target Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech. Premier League legend Cech now finds himself second choice to Thibaut Courtois, but is still a marvelous goalkeeper by all estimations.

The Czech stopper now looks destined to leave West London, after making just 4 Premier League starts this season. Parlour believes his former club is just two or three signings away from being genuine title challengers again, and says Cech could be the start of.

Speaking at The People’s Pundit, Parlour had this to say:

“Cech would definitely be on my radar if I was Arsene Wenger.”

“Cech has got that experience, he’s played in big games and he’s only 33 so he’s got plenty of years left in him.”

He continued, stating that Cech would be an ideal replacement for a certain Arsenal keeper who looks to be heading the other direction, but is unsure whether or not Chelsea will sell to a rival.

“Wojciech Szczesny wants to play on a regular basis and you could still get good money for him, someone will buy him for around £6million.”

“So it’s a no-brainer really. If you can get Cech for around £10m and sell Szcezsny for £6m, it’s a great deal for Arsenal.”

“The question is will Chelsea sell to a rival? I’m not sure they will.”

Interesting view from Parlour. Cech is a goalkeeper that would still walk into nearly any side even at his age. While no gooner would turn down the chance to sign Cech, the chances are slim given the history between the two clubs, so I’m not sure Wenger will give this one much thought. What do you think gooners? Should Arsenal go for Cech?
