Speculation linking Arsenal with a move for Juventus star Arturo Vidal has picked up yet again, with the latest set of reports implying that the Turin outfit has already agreed a deal with a “top European club” but won’t reveal the club until the player returns from Copa America.

The Metro reports that the news has been confirmed by Spanish publication Marca, and says Juventus will reveal the club no later than next Saturday when the Copa America concludes.

If that weren’t enough, several sources including the Independent has reported that Vidal’s international teammate and Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez may be trying to convince his compatriot to join him at the Emirates. Sanchez didn’t comment on speculation linking Vidal to Arsenal, but confirmed the two are close friends and that he offered Vidal his advice and support following his recent drunk driving incident.

“We are a family and we are there to support him,” Sanchez said. “All the players were with him.”

“The important thing is that Arturo, his wife and everyone else are well. The case of Arturo should now close and we can concentrate on the Copa America.”

This may be a case of the media stretching things a bit, but the friendship between the two could well work in Arsenal’s favour. Gooners won’t get too carried away just yet, but will keep our fingers crossed that Arsenal is the mystery club involved.
