Arsenal are looking to bolster their forward ranks this summer with the signature of two prime-targets from French football, The Daily Mirror reports.

The Gunners could face losing both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil this summer, as they enter the final 12 months of their current deals, and two attacking stars from Ligue 1 are currently topping Arsenal’s summer short-list.

Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, who excelled in the Champions League triumph over Manchester City, and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, who’s been a long-term target for the Gunners, are the two names being eyed this summer to significantly improve the Arsenal front-line.

Both Lacazette and Mbappe could end-up surpassing the club’s record fee, which stands at £42.5m following Ozil’s transfer from Real Madrid in 2013, but the Gunners are ready to splash the cash this summer to establish themselves as contenders across all competitions.

After spending in excess of £90m last summer, where the stand-out deals were the captures of Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi, Arsenal are prepared to take their spending into three figures for the very first time in the upcoming transfer window.

Alternative targets to Lacazette and Mbappe include Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus and Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, with the latter having netted a sensational 24-goal haul in his inaugural season with the Scottish giants.
