Shock reports have surface recently that suggested that Jose Mourinho and Chelsea won’t stand in the way of an Arsenal pursuit for Petr Cech. Arsenal are tipped with a £10m move for the stopper in the summer, with the player growing increasingly unhappy playing second fiddle to Courtois.

The Chelsea legend has now spoken out about his future, saying he would like to play more games and does not want to go another season as second choice.

“I’m used to playing 50 or 60 games a season, not 15 or 20. That’s a big difference,” he said. “It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo. But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this.”
“It is no secret that I want to play more. The situation is the same, it hasn’t changed. But at the end of the season it will be solved.”
This is perhaps the biggest hint yet that Cech may be set for a departure from Stamford Bridge, and the £10million price tag has been mooted by several different sources. Is he worth it? For a keeper of his caliber I would have to say he is, however much depends on the future of Szczesny. If the Pole is disgruntled as well and is headed for the exit, Cech is a more than suitable replacement.
He would walk straight into the XI and at 32, he is at a fine age for a keeper. Cech is still amongst the world’s elite shot stoppers, and while £10million is usually an astronomical fee for a keeper, he is among the exceptions to the rule.
For me he is worth the cash and Wenger should do what’s necessary to complete the signing.

Arsenal don’t need Peter Cech. It is a rumor started by his agent in order to ” boost” his price in the European market. Even if Szczesney leaves, Arsenal with Ospina and Martinez, have goalkeepers for several years.
