So, tomorrow night Arsene Wenger will be calling upon the artist formerly known as Damian, Emiliano Martinez as the man to grab a cleansheet away in Belgium against Anderlecht in the Champions League.

Martinez’s only real taste of English football came on loan at Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday last season. However, the 22-year-old has made two previous appearances for Arsene Wenger’s first-team – although us Gooners will be hoping for a different outcome this time around (the Argentine let in six goals across the games).

Martinez seems ready for Wednesday night’s challenge, speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said: “I’ve been working on being more commanding in the box. I didn’t have any experience before and I went to the Championship, which is all about crosses and making the right decision.

“I learnt a lot because I played nearly 20 games so I’m a completely different keeper now. I was working really hard and I played really well in quite a few wins and gained a lot of experience.

“I’ve been working with Wojciech for nearly four years already. Since I came to Arsenal I’ve been working with him.”
