Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will see his fine form rewarded before Christmas, with a new bumper deal to tie him down for the next five years.

The reports come from The Daily Mirrorwhich state Arsenal will hand Alexis £130k-a-week for the next five years; which would mean the Chilean would be 31 when his new deal would expire.

Alexis has been in fine form since arriving from Barcelona last summer, becoming an instant hit with the Gunners faithful as he helped Arsenal retain their Premier League crown- before then winning the Copa America with Chile over the summer.

The 26-year-old’s exploits in South America affected his form at the beginning of the new campaign but Alexis has been on fire in the past week, striking a hat-trick against Leicester City before heading home against Olympiakos- and adding a further two goals to his tally yesterday against Manchester United.

It’s clear Arsenal are getting the best out of Sanchez as he enters the prime period of his career and he will be a crucial part of any success Arsene Wenger is to lead the team to in the future.

Arsenal’s fresh deal for Alexis follows a policy they’ve created this year to tie-down their first-team stars, with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud signing over the summer- whilst Nacho Monreal and Mesut Ozil have been touted as the next in-line.
