Arsenal could be about to rekindle their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye after the player stated he wanted to leave the club this summer.

The Gunners were previously linked to making a big money move for Cabaye before the former Newcastle midfield general joined the French Champions.

Cabaye’s ability on the ball means he fits the type of player that Arsene Wenger likes and it would be easy imagine him fitting seamlessly into the Might Gunners’ style of play. The player would also likely be available for much less than the £19m plus add-ons that Paris Saint-Germain paid Newcastle for his services back in January 2014.

Yohann Cabaye has found first team opportunities hard to come by since moving to the French capital with almost half of his Ligue 1 appearances coming from the bench this season. It would seem that competition from the likes of Balise Matuidi and Marco Verratti has proved too much for the 29-year-old.
