Wolfsburg attacking midfielder, Julian Draxler, has cooled any talk that he will be leaving the Bundesliga outfit in January, having seemingly been destined for the exit door over the summer.

After publicly admitting that he wanted to leave for a bigger side, the Germany international was told he would be going nowhere during the summer window, and has accepted that he will not be moving this season.

Speaking to kicker, the 23-year-old said: “There will probably be rumours again in January, but I won’t be the one to start them.

“We are now playing the season. I am aware the club have a taken a clear position, and that’s why I play towards the summer and I am fully focused.”

The former Schalke man was linked with moves to both Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain over the summer, before staying put whilst the French side opted for Jese from Real Madrid and Wenger’s only attacking addition was Lucas Perez.

However, from the quotes it is clear that beyond this season his future is uncertain, meaning that a move next season is by no means of the cards, although it could be an expensive one, with rumoured deals over the summer being valued at £64m.
