Tomas Rosicky is a Czech attacking-midfielder that was signed by Arsenal in 2006. After featuring for the Gunners 241 times and scoring 28 goals, the attacking midfielder found himself as a fringe player struggling to make the first-team.
At the beginning of the 2014/2015 season, Rosicky did not feature for the first-team. This led to the midfielder speculating about a potential move during the winter transfer window.
Rosicky claimed that:
“When you don’t play a single game in December and the market opens, [the prospect of leaving] is obviously on the agenda. Then you start to have second thoughts. It was an exception for me though, I really thought about it.”
Fortunately, Arsenal realised that losing Rosicky would be a mistake and:
“Arsenal said stay and that was that.”
Rosicky is a talented footballer who has flair and is technical; he is able to play in numerous positions across the midfield.
Rosicky finally bagged his first goal of this season for the Gunners on Boxing Day – the matchwinner, in fact. That performance seemed to earn him a second chance under Wenger and the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker has since featured heavily for the Gunners featuring in 12 of the last 15 games. Wenger made a smart move to keep the veteran player happy, as he still has plenty to offer.
