Wenger on Cygan's injury and Cole's return

Arsène Wenger has revealed he had to rush Ashley Cole back early because Pascal Cygan has a hamstring problem.

Cygan has been playing at left-back in place of Cole since October, and today made way for the England international as he limped off in the first half against Middlesbrough.

Wenger says the problem could keep Cygan out for as much as three weeks.

"He looks to be out for three weeks. It looks to be a hamstring but they are not exactly sure. If it's a real hamstring then it's 21 days."

However, the manager was not too fussed about bringing Cole back into the game today, as it was so comfortable, despite a bit of trouble with his thigh after the game.

"He has a slight fatigue point on his thigh, but he should be OK. We'll see in the next two days.

"He was not planned to play because he had only one training session yesterday with us and it was a bit early to throw him in. But considering we were dominating the game, it was not too bad a game for him to start."
