Arsène Wenger was delighted with Arsenal's form in the last few games of the season, eventually leading to a 4th place finish.
Wenger's men have been chasing Spurs all season, but a 4-2 win over Wigan in the last ever game at Highbury, along with Spurs' defeat away to West Ham meant Champions League football for the Gunners next season.
"We went into the last week knowing that two away games, and one home game against Wigan, and less than nine points we have no chance," Wenger said.
"I feel that we did it in a fantastic manner because we scored 10 goals, and we had three cup games because all three teams gave us a very hard time.
"I'm very proud for my team because they did it in an exceptional way with a lot of character."
Arsenal's form is even more impressive considering the 4th position was very much in Spurs' hands for such a long time.
"I felt that it was not in our hands anymore," admitted the Frenchman. "But they had to play Bolton and West Ham, I knew that they could drop points against both - and they could have dropped points against Bolton, frankly.
"Even if they had a draw today we still would have gone through - they needed to win today.
"Sport is like that sometimes, to lose it in the last game is difficult."
