Gilberto scores Arsenal's first goal

Gilberto Silva has scored Arsenal's first goal at the new Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal were losing 1-0 after an Olef Mellberg goal from a corner, but have been applying the pressure on the Aston Villa goal since then.

Manager Arsène Wenger took a positive approach and brought on youngster Theo Walcott, who has made an incredible difference in Arsenal's pace and movement since coming on.

Gilberto met a cross with a right-footed rifle shot past Villa goalkeeper Tomas Sorensen.

The Gunners have not yet let up and are going in search for a winner.
