Arsène Wenger was pleased with Theo Walcott's long-awaited debut for Arsenal.
The 17-year-old made his first appearance for the Gunners since his move from Southampton in January and a frustrating time on the England bench at the World Cup in the summer.
Wenger felt the youngster coped well with the pressure of being thrown into the situation of being 1-0 down at home.
"I am happy because we were in a tricky situation when he came on, one-nil down. I know there is a lot expected from him," Wenger said.
"He played with freshness and straight away he became dangerous on the left flank and he was involved in the goal we scored.
"I must say that overall when he came on his performance was very positive."
