Gilberto talks up 'fantastic' Walcott

Gilberto has hailed the talents of young English forward Theo Walcott following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

Walcott put in an impressive showing against Villa, and it was his cross that resulted in Gilberto's equaliser for the Gunners.

"He can be one of the important players for Arsenal. He plays his football without fear and that is important," Gilberto said.

Walcott looked lively when he came on for Freddie Ljungberg, in his first match for Arsenal's senior team. He ran at the Villa defence and stretched them, despite their heavily defensive mindset.

"He is a fantastic young player and has a lot going for him," the Brazilian said.

"At Arsenal everyone is here to help him and he can develop very quickly. We are there to help and Arsène Wenger has an important role too.

"When you have something to say to him, Theo listens to it and that is good for a young guy who has such talent.

Gilberto also noted that Walcott's surprise inclusion in England's World Cup squad will have helped him deal with pressure situations.

"Going to something like the World Cup at his age is not easy. There is a lot of pressure," Gilberto sad. "But it will be an important experience."

I agree with Gilberto. Theo is very talented player and yet has a lot to learn. If I may i would like to say something out of the title. Have you seen how many chances Arsenal had on the match against aston Villa. and yet they keep dribling the ball around the 16 yard area. This is not a problem that had occured this season. It was there since last season or even before. I hope every arsenal fan agree with me when i say that Wenger has some weaknnesses. WE NEED A PLAYER THAT CAN SHOOT. We have got some like van Persie, Eboue ... and they only shoot once in a while. Fabregas needs to also start shooting if he wants to score more goals like he said.

Thanks

Rombosia

The day I heard he cut short his holiday to go for training, I knew we had a determined boy. Discipline is key. We've had many talents but discipline and hard work move you to legend status.

He'll do well under Wenger. I see another George Weah/ Thierry Henry in that boy.
