Arsène Wenger is backing his captain Thierry Henry to win the FIFA World Footballer of the Year award this year.
Henry has missed out in the past two years to Ronaldinho, despite arguably having more influence on matches over a longer period of time than the Brazilian.
Arsène Wenger agrees and believes Henry will finally win the award: "I don't know anybody else who has played in the final of the Champions' League and the final of the World Cup [in the same year]," Wenger said.
"The most difficult thing is consistency, and that is what Thierry has produced in the last five years.
"He will win it this time, I think. He is the best in the world, yes."

Yes, Henry is well deserved to be honoured this time. Remember reading a commentator's on this year winner being either Cannavora or Ronaldinho. Well, what Henry has achieved for Arsenal & France is second to none. Cannavora who? Ronaldinho does not drive and steer Barcelona in a commanding way as Henry does to the youthful team. Barcelona is already potentially built with well established players compared to the young side of Arsenal last season.

With being nominated by 1.4 million people as the most influential foreign player EVER to play in the Premiership, i think its an obvious thing he should be the one.

Henry is the best in the world. I agree with Arsene, consistency is the hardest and most valued thing about Thierry Henry. I hope he will win, because he deserves.

If he doesn't win then all the voters can go f*ck themselves as far as I'm concerned. He MUST be recognised this time.
