After Arsène Wenger had explained to the media that there was no rift between himself and his captain, Thierry Henry provided his side of the story,
The French striker said that he was disappointed to be left out of the game against Tottenham Hotspur, but understood Wenger's concerns over his fitness, especially as he had been nursing an injury.
Henry said: "I would rather go on the pitch injured but sometimes, like after the Ireland game with France, I started to have a hernia and that was not going to do me any good and I stopped.
"Arsène has made everything clear. After the game we had a discussion but the boss talked on Monday because we had an important game on Saturday and we have an important game tomorrow.
"Sometimes I need to learn. I already put myself in the position of being injured because I wanted to play and help the team.
"On Saturday, the team didn't need me. They had an amazing game. It was tremendous.
"Adebayor has received a lot of critics recently for not finishing and he had an amazing finish on Saturday.
|I was upset because we beat Spurs and instead you talk about them not winning for a long time and not scoring a goal in open-play away from home, and you speculate about me."
