Wenger: We can still win title

Arsène Wenger has declared that Arsenal can still win the Premiership title, despite lagging behind in the title race and winning just two of the their last six fixtures.

The Gunners take on Wigan on Wednesday, and the Arsenal boss was bullish about his side's chances in taking three points and hauling themselves back into the title race.

Wenger said: "I do not look at Chelsea or Manchester United.

"I look at my team and we want to win the title. We have won at Manchester United, we have beaten Liverpool and we came close to winning at Chelsea on Sunday.

"That tells you there is a big potential in this side.

"There is a big stride in my side to be top. I have still not given up on (catching) Manchester United as well, but at the moment I admit it looks a bit pretentious.

"Still if you ask me who I want to be champions I can give you a straight answer - Arsenal."

The Frenchman also said that his team are still young and learning, but that his charges had enormous potential. Arsenal have beaten Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and drawn away against Chelsea.

Wenger continued: "We had an under-21 defence against Chelsea. When you are young it is more difficult to be consistent.

"That is part of the learning process. Experience gives you consistency."

Aw is so full of it - the man lives in a dream world and needs a big reality check - we have no chance of winning the title as we had no chance last year and will not have any chance again until either he changes his policies and tactics or he is replaced!

yeah, we have the potential, we beat man utd, liverpool, spurs, drew against chelsea, but what about man city, bolton, borough, everton, these are the sides champions have to beat.
Winning 6 games doesnt make you champions, i dont think we'll win it this year, nor does wenger!!!

No United fan belives me but it would not take alot for United to drop 18 points, say Rooney & Ferdinand out for 2 months and United would lose more games than they win!. Chelsea must be close to having the FA coming down on them in a big way, so it is possable. I personaly think likley as United dont have the depth

Come off it Arsene Man Utd and Chelski would have to lose another 5 games each and we win all our games till the end of the season. It just isnt going to happen.
