Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein has said that he doesn't think there will be any Arsenal transfer activity in January, despite manager Arsène Wenger having the necessary funds to do so.
Dein said: "I don't think we are really going to be active in the window.
"Arsène has already said that. He is very happy with a good, talented squad and when we are ready we will go into the market.
"The problem is, just putting players on top of players doesn't help. Then you don't give the younger ones a chance and that is not right or fair.
"We think that we have an emerging group coming through and it is exciting times for the club. We have a new stadium and the squad that we have already is very good.
"History will tell you that we are not big spenders in the market. The first 11 that took the field against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge cost less than Shevchenko on his own.
"What does that mean? We look for different talent and emerging talent that is young.''
