Henry might retire in five years

Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has told France Football that he may only continue playing top-flight football for another four or five years.

The striker said that he would also be looking for a deeper role, one behind a target striker, in the future, as he gets older and he loses his speed.

Henry said: "Maybe I still have four or five years left, I don't know.

"I believe when my legs will be less fast, I would like to play just behind a forward.

"I really have fun playing in such a position, because I can assist.

"You always see me smile when I assist or when someone else is scoring. The most important is that the team win."

I think Henry can play till he is 36. He definitely has the passion and love for the game to, maybe, even carry him on for longer - perhaps to Teddy Sheringham's age? Henry will always have the class and skill, that makes him (in my mind) the best striker in the world today. I dont think anyone would want him to retire in the next five years, whether an Arsenal fan or a Machester United one. He bring gracefullness to the game, and will be treasured by any manager, whether he plays as a lone striker or even 'sitting' behind 2 forwards.
