William Gallas has revealed that he is unlikely to return to action until the start of the new year.
The Frenchman would have liked to make the Boxing Day game against Watford, but regrets that he will have to wait a little longer until a return to action.
"I don't think I will be fit to play in our Boxing Day game at Watford," said the defender.
"I would have loved to play on such a special day, but I don't think I will be able to play again before the start of next year."
It's been a frustrating time for the ex-Chelsea stopper, who was disappointed to see Arsenal dropping points at home to Portsmouth.
"That draw [against Portsmouth] has made it tricky for us in our bid for the title. We are struggling to win our matches right now."

The absence of this player for such a long time now has been very bad. We need him back now!!! Gallas is an excellent player and some games could have been won with him in the squad.
