Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger has said that his team are no longer intimidated by teams who employ overly aggressive tactics against them.
The Gunners beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0 despite being a man down for most of the match, when Gilberto Silva was sent off for violent conduct against Robbie Savage.
Whereas in the past many Arsenal fans expected their young team to collapse, the Gunners did themselves proud by standing up to the bruising approach employed by teams less technically-capable than the Arsenal.
Wenger said: "At the beginning of the season I felt we were not as committed away from home as we are now.
"We have learned a lot, we now have the right balance now between what is needed in the Premiership without losing our football.
"There's a great combination between strength, commitment and real class.
"Blackburn went for a direct style and you have to win the challenges in the air but not forget to bring the ball down and play your game.
"For that you need to be calm and not panic under pressure and sometimes take risks and we did that well."
