Arsène Wenger has said that he will continue to use his youth policy in the Carling Cup, which means that it will be a trial of fire for most of these youngsters against bitter rivals Tottenham.
The Arsenal manager said that his young players had earned and deserved the right to play, as it was them who had earned qualification from the previous round.
Wenger said: "They deserve it. They have earned the right.
"It is very difficult to say 'Listen you are good enough to play at Liverpool, but you are not good enough to play at Tottenham'."
"We are in a job where only quality decides whether you play or not.
"It is not how old you are, what you did before. Just on the day you have to turn up and show how good you are."
Wenger also confirmed that Theo Walcott will play tonight, but could not confirm when William Gallas would be back.
Wenger added: "Theo will play against Spurs.
"There is no set date for William because I don't want to put him under pressure. He wants so much to rush back."
