Wenger: We were unlucky

Arsène Wenger says that Arsenal were unlucky to draw with Bolton Wanderers after a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal went a goal down early in the second half when Bolton captain Kevin Nolan scored.

The Gunners then produced wave after wave of attacks, eventually scorign an equaliser via Kolo Touré.

Earlier, an audacious flick from Thierry Henry was goal bound but cleared off the line by the Bolton defence.

Wenger said: "It was a bit unfortunate that we went 1-0 down as in the second half we were on top of the game.

"We are used to going behind here at The Emirates but we always find the resources to come back.

"But today we lacked the ability to score a second goal and kill the game off - we had the chances. But Bolton's keeper and defenders played very well."

Henry - apart from that backheel was nonexistent most of the time. Aliadiere works much harder than that tackling and winning balls.

Flamini as usually does the running around ... though most of the time Bolton had their way in the midfield, until the second half when Rosicky got really fired up

very true about Bolton winning headers from 50/50s I mean Sendy is much taller than most players.

Clichy did well on the left wing, I'd like Eboue back asap - that right wing lacked creativity.

Bolton plays ugly, we all know that. Still, they're 5th in the league, it means the ugly thing is working. Still, yesterday we suffered. Rosicky was sharp. Ade was great as usual, but Cesc needs a rest. His passes yesterday were way below what we've come to expect of him!

That said, we need to get rid of this come-back-kings tag. That is just proof that we always go behind. What happens when we don't manage the come-back, we LOSE!!

Also, just like the ManUre match, Henry looked lost. In the ManUre match he worked hard, but he was still lost. Is it only me, or does anyone else think he's being used in the wrong position? Over the years he's been so effective running at defenders from theleft, cutting back n shooting or drawing defenders n assisting other players to score. At the centre there, his speed is irrelevant! Also, he's not so adept at holding the ball like Ade n spraying passes. He gets hassled off the ball too easily. Just like V. Persie wen he was playin on the left, he couldn't shoot. The goals started coming wen he was operating from right n cuttin back to shoot!

Can someone please tell Wenger we need Henry on the left using his speed n guile to harass defenders!! Case in point, the Liverpool match n that great goal against Blackburn! Wen coming from the left, his running n shooting causes all kinds of problems for defenders. We need that!

What a terrible team is Bolton. Simply ugly. They play for 50/50 balls and scavenge for the crumbs like hyenas. This is the luck of the dice comes in. They purposefully play stop/start football through fouls, tackles, corners, free-kicks and long balls. They make the game a one set-piece. They unfortunately with their bestial play also have brains and like to release two out-stretched forwards in Anelka or Davies or Giannakopoulos. How Bolton managed to find them coming out of defence I will never know. This must stop. What also must stop is Bolton players winning headers in the Arsenal box surrounded by five Arsenal players. They then try to score goals from throw-ins and flick-on headers. Another element that must be overcome is the heroism of the Bolton central back three. See Henry's back-heel cleared off the line. Also not to be under-estimated is the class and ability of Jaskalainan. Here they resort to easy play by playing the ball back to their keeper only to boot the ball upfield for another 50/50. It is about this time that Bolton foul again and then Arsenal waste another corner. The the world turns up-side down. Bolton score an Arsenal goal. They have four against four in the box. Anelka who played like Henry passed to Davies then onto Nolan opening up an already disorganised defence. It may as well have been Henry to Pires to Ljunberg. How beautiful. It is not surprising because Anelka is an Arsenal player. Later Bolton found themselves in a three against three and from this Nolan in a one on one chance. Yet, when we attack we are faced with one against five. Arsenal now play the long-ball game. Then Arsenal score a Bolton goal. How terrible.

Didnt see the whole game, managed to catch the 2nd half, from what i saw, Arsenal were all over them, but as usual, no width, no real penetration, and no real cutting edge in the last 3rd.
Did anyone else think Henry looked disinterested??? I read about how he had a flick saved off the line that would have been goal of the season if it went in, but in the 2nd half he looked like he wasnt that bothered, i dont know.

Why go 1-0 down in the first place Arsene? He has conveniently forgotten the first half performance. If football was only about the 45 mins of the second half we would be top of the league, but its not, and thats why we are 4th.

We lost a lot of shape in the middle, Flamini even though worked hard had no idea what was going on, he looked like a chicken running around with its head cut off.

Cesc as always RAN HIS HEART OF THE FIELD. I AM Seriouslly wondering if he might suffer from Burnout. Its not humanly possible to run as much as him and not be affected. He has played 5 games in 12 days that is not near impossible to be affected on the run in!! And not to mention International duties coming up. Lets hope he doesn’t get 90 Mins in that either.

Here to the hope Gilberto will provide the shape we need, and for our Hungry Gunners to return.
