While manager Arsène Wenger has hinted he could make a last minute purchase in this January's transfer window to make up for the ever-growing injury list, Gaël Clichy is confident that Arsenal don't need to add to the squad to win trophies this season.
Arsenal have rotated a lot recently as the fixtures have piled up, not to mention the fact that a young Arsenal side has found itself on the brink of a place in this year's Carling Cup final, and Clichy believes the success of the squad in recent games shows that the Gunners are equipped to challenge on all four fronts this season.
"We played at Tottenham a few days ago with a team whose average age was 21. So, we have shown everyone that even in the Reserves we have quality," said the full-back. "We have the players to make the injured ones relax and recover well. We just hope that they come back and in the meantime we'll try our best to stay in all the competitions.
"The Premiership and the Champions League are the two first objectives. But when you play for a team like Arsenal or Chelsea or Manchester United or whatever big team you have to win something.
"We have to go as far as we can and I'm sure with the quality we have got we can make something happen this season in the Carling Cup, FA Cup, Champions League or Premiership."
The young Frenchman has Wenger's system of showing faith in the youth players in the Carling Cup to thank for the progress he himself has made in his career, and he believes the boss will continue to use this policy to great effect.
"We have seen against Liverpool and Tottenham this season that even the young players can do great. That's part of the game. You have to keep rotating the team and I think that is what the boss is going to do."
