Thierry Henry yesterday tried to defuse his confrontation with Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.
Henry appeared to taunt Kirkland after Arsenal scored their equaliser.
The Arsenal skipper was incensed after Kirkland had appeared to try and waste time by prolonging his goal kick earlier in the game.
Henry said: "Kirkland started to waste time from the first minute.
"This is one of the games when I have run the most because I was trying to get the ball off him.
"When we scored I asked him if he wanted to waste any more time.
"It was just a joke but it was a bit annoying."

sky, the mirror and that manure-loving muppet platt all condemn Henry's despicable tiny bit of banter - a disgrace, must make public apology etc etc. Yet 'one size' fitz hall - humiliated by rosicky and clichy running him ragged, embarrased by his OG equaliser, decided to try and break clichy's legs (unlucky with injuring yourself there fitz). Not a single word of condemnation - whats more 'disrespectful' - a bit of stick or attempted assault????

Henry should know better, but it made me laugh all the same. This time wasting issue has to be addressed. People pay a lot of money to watch football matches and shouldn't have to put up with such blatant time wasting.
If it's the last 10 minutes then fair enough, but the referee should still be alert and add time. To waste time from the 35th minute onwards is a disgrace.
Also, I am not sure referees are adding time properly, he added 4 minutes yesterday, which is what you get in most games after subs and stoppages for injuries - there was obviously nothing added for time wasting. Until refs start adding 6-7 minutes for time wasting this problem will remain.
